After much work on an old PHP framework that Cartel used to use, I’ve made the decision to throw all of that shit away and just give in to the new Internet gods. See, back in the old days, the site ran on PHP Nuke. That was fine for 2005 or so, but todays climate demands better protection and less demandy, finnicky bits and bobs. So, without further ado, I give you the new home of Cartel Incorporated!
There are forums. There is an image gallery. There is news! Just like old times, but even better!
The forums were the heart of the old community, and I’m hoping that as more people stumble across the story of James and his buddies, they find kindred spirits here to share with and stoke up some healthy debate, hilarity, or even some mild trolling, as was proper.
The gallery is for now, a museum of the old 3D art I used to post on the Egosoft boards, and serves as a reminder for me of how this little universe came into being. In the future, I’m entertaining the prospect of adding user galleries for you to host your own stuff, but again, the internet has changed. It may be more trouble than it’s worth. For now, please enjoy some very old school 3DS Max stuff.
The blog is the same as it’s been since I restarted this place. Musings about life, the story, personal struggles, current events. I invite you to comment on anything I’ve written there, including this little fluff piece, as at this point any criticism is good criticism.
Oh, and if you like a kick ass space opera… Buy the Book!
