James Layne is, if nothing else, a fan of a good street machine. His van is a testament to that; it’s list of victories over the unsuspecting tourist population of Tucumcari is legendary.

Now, this idea didn’t come from nowhere. I’ve been a fan of cars since I first smelled the rich exhaust from my neighbor’s Camaro (a 1968, if I remember…). As a kid, I went to every car show I could con the family member du jour into, and came away even more rabid for horsepower and metal flake paint.

That brings me to today’s post. Earlier, I took a trip to a local phenomenon called the Good Times Cruise In, held in Aldergrove – just down the road from me. Spending the day surrounded by horsepower is a little more sobering nowadays, what with the climate crisis upon us and all, as well as the plentiful “Mandate Freedom” T-shirts. But, these few drawbacks aside, the eye candy was pretty on point. Here’s a few good shots from my roll today.
