Weekly update?

When I started writing this blog alongside the already mammoth task of writing the book, I hadn’t planned on it turning into a regular thing, but here we are, albeit a couple of days later than normal. Initially, I had thought I would only post updates when something monumental had happened, or when I wanted to drop some information on the characters or tech. Now though, it’s starting to take on a life of it’s own… at least in my head.

I finished the second to last chapter today, and the official word count is 104,595. If I can keep up the pace through the hell that is my weekly slog through temporary labor to pay the bills, I think I might be able to get this thing edited and ready to self-publish by the summer. There is, however, a possible wrench looming precariously near the works as yesterday, I had a pretty phenomenal interview with a local design firm that’s looking for an IT guy.

Until now, this has been my primary focus and as such I have been able to allocate most of my mental resources to its completion. If I get this job, which I really, really need, it threatens to take a good portion of those resources away. I have to make sure that I do not waiver, and finish what I set out to do.
